FAQs
Questions ? Some answers !
-
Organic seaweed?Yes! Absolutely ! Our algae are certified organic because they grow in a Natura 2000 and ultra-controlled protected area. This is what gives them this unique quality and ensures that they are harvested in authorized areas.

What is the difference between invasive green algae and our algae? If some of our algae is green, it is because it has been bleached. Nothing to do with the invasive green algae found in certain areas in Brittany. These algae feed on nitrites and as too high levels are dumped by human activity in nature (pesticides, intensive farming, etc.), the algae feed on them and grow too fast, too strong. They become uncontrollable and destructive. Our algae evolve in protected areas and are not of the same species as these green algae.

How do I store my organic seaweed and for how long?Your organic seaweed can be stored in the fridge for several months in airtight packaging. We advise you, upon receipt, to put them in a closed glass jar and to desalinate small quantities as you consume them. Desalt a larger quantity for the whole week, so you can easily dip into your seaweed and quickly add them to your dishes (they can be kept desalted in the fridge for 3 to 4 days).

My seaweed has dried out, how do I know if it's still good?Don't panic! Sometimes the algae dry out or crystals appear. Let them soak for 4 to 5 minutes in cool water. If, taking them between your fingers, they disintegrate, they are no longer good. Put them in your plants, they will make a good supply of minerals! If the algae, after desalting, smell too strong for your taste, same process, do not hesitate to put them in the soil of the plants or in the compost.
